Fall Harvest FestivalContinuing with its Taste Education Series, Slow Food Maui presents its third session: Making sorbets and gelatos with Melissa McKelvey of Penguini in Pāʻia. McKelvey’s products are crafted from locally grown ingredients in distinctive combinations such as Kafir-lime-coconut, lilikoi-mango and Olinda plum and ginger.

    Is this using ice cream maker machines to make the gelatos, or is it blenders?

    We had a questions about making gelato from one of our readers. Machine vs blender. And will samples include dairy free. And here is Melissa’s reply:

    I will talk mostly about using machines but will not be bringing one… But will explain a blender recipe, I will have both dairy and dairy free samples
